BSDCERTIFICATION.COM RELEASES ITS FIRST BETA EXAM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 18, 2005
FOR INFORMATION: Jared Barneck, (801)687-6105, email jared.barneck@bsdcertification.com

BSDCertification.com began in August of 2004, created by a group of BSD advocates who wanted to certify their knowledge. Its first entry level certification exam was released in beta form on April 18, 2005.

BSDCertification.com provides a unique approach to certification by making it more involved than passing a test. BSD Certification is a two step process. Once a test has been passed, a prospective certifier must be endorsed by at least two others in the BSD community before they are certified.

Though most endorsements will come from members of the BSD community, BSDCertification.com will endorse those who can prove they are actively taking part in the BSD community. Endorsement will be given by BSDCertification.com for the following:
1. Commiting for one year of BSD distribution
2. Assisting others in www.bsdforums.org
3. Writing guides for www.bsdguides.org
4. Porting applications
5. Testing and submitting bug reports
6. Writing Exam Questions and participating in beta exams for BSDCertification.com

By adding the endorsement aspect to the process, the certification will raise the bar for knowledge validation in the IT industry. It also benefits the BSD community by making its members more active and more respected in the corporate environment.

The entry level beta test is the first exam and will be followed by a list of more advanced and specialized administrator exams. The exam will be web based to be available internationally.
